Helambu Trek is the best short trekking in the northern part of Kathmandu valley. The Sherpa villages of Helambu lie down north of Kathmandu valley and presents an easy getaway. This area because of its low elevation and the Sherpa villages makes it an interesting 6 days loop.
Starting with a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal the trail to Helambu climbs on to the Shivapuri ridge from where there are sweeping views of the central Himalayas. Mountain view from this trek can see Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Manaslu, and Annapurna range Even Mount Everest able to see from this trek but very difficult to recognize.
Can easily see domestic animal and wild animal mostly Red panda, Following a ridge-line the trek heads north to Thare Pati before turning east to Melemchi Gaon and Tarke Gyang the principle villages of this area.

During this journey you will get chance to known the unique culture and festivals of Sherpa people. Visit Shermathang before descending to the Melamchi River to end our trek. Finally trekkers take a vehicle ride from Melamchi Bazaar back to Kathmandu. This trip is the shortest trekking route of the Langtang region. Moreover, it is in the low altitude area. Therefore, there is less risk of altitude sickness as well.

Helambu Trek Itinerary - 7 Days
Day 01:Drive to Sundarijal early in the morning by private car (one hour driving) and trek to Chisapani (2025 m 5 hours walking) overnight at Lodge.
Day 02:Trek to Kutumsang (2446 m 5/6 hours walking) and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 03:Trek to Tharepati (3597 m 5 hours walking) and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 04:Trek to Tarke Ghyang(2740 m 4 hours walking) and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 05:Trek to Sarmathang (2621 m 5 hours walking) and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 06:Trek to Melamche (828 m 4 hours walking) and stay overnight at Lodge.
Day 07:Drive back to Kathmandu from Melamchi Bazaar by local bus (4/5 hours driving)

Weather & Climatic Conditions
Nepal’s mountain region has unpredictable weather and climatic conditions. Day temperature is normal but night hours are pretty freezing. Weather can change drastically in just an hour. Expect unexpected changes in climate and weather. However, the team will analyze the situation and only decide whether to push or not.
Trekking Preparation
The best way to prepare for climbing is by doing cardiovascular workouts. These kinds of cardio exercises help to increase lung capacity. In order to climb the mountain, you need strong and healthy lungs.
Do some strength-building training like planks, push-ups, and squats. Cycling is also the best option to prepare your body for climbing. Always start these activities 4-5 months before traveling to Nepal for climbing.

Can i add Gosainkunda Lake too in my Helambu Trek?
Yes, you can add Gosainkunda Lake also in your Helambu Trek. However, you need to add 3 days extra in your trip. The route is via Tharepatin and Kutungsang. The trek finishes in Dhunche. During Helambu Trek you will return back to Kathmandu from Melamchi but if you add the Gosaikunda, you will have to return back to Kathmandu from Dhunche. You can choose to return via Sundarijal also. It takes more time and tiring to walk as well. Whichever is your preference we can knit the best itinerary for you.

Tharepati is the highest altitude place during Helambu Trek which is located at an altitude of 3690 m from sea level.

Do i Need Travel Insurance? What kind of insurance should i take? Do you give insurance service as well?
Yes you need travel insurance for the trek. You will have to take the insurance which covers medical aid, emergency helicopter evacuation and accident. No, we don't sell travel insurance, you will have to buy it before heading to Nepal from the trusted company. It can base in your own home country or other global insurance companies.
