It is the easy trekking peak which can be climbed with little mountaineering skill and strong physical fitness. It is the busiest and popular peak in the Annapurna region which was first climbed by a German expedition in 1955. Pisang peak climbing provides the opportunity to enjoy the amazing panoramic vistas of the towering mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna I, Annapurna south, Annapurna III Annapurna IV, Mt. Manaslu, Nilgiri, Lamjung Himal, Tilicho peak, Thorung la peak etc. while trekking to the base camp of Pisang peak, the fantastic Himalayan landscapes, green forest, ethnic villages, flowers of rhododendron, high waterfalls, swift flowing rivers etc adds further pleasure to the climbers. You can also explore the cultures, tradition and life style of the different ethnic communities like Gurung, Magar, and Thakali etc.

The journey to the Pisang peak Base camp begins with the scenic drive to Besisahar from Kathmandu. Besisahar is also the starting point of the popular Annapurna circuit trail. From Besisahar you follow the Annapurna circuit trekking trail until Chame. Then you leave the circuit trail and head to Pisang village which lies on the foot of the Pisang peak. You traverse through the forest, alpine woods, yak pastures, ethnic village of Gurung, Magar, etc. from Pisang village you ascend to the base camp at Kharka through the alpine woods and yak grazing pastures. You climb the peak from south west ridge. The best time for Pisang peak climbing is from March to May and September to November.
