Gokyo Lake Trekking Information.
Gokyo Lake Trek is one of the popular trekking destinations of Khumbu region. Tranquil Gokyo Lake is situated in the Gokyo valley and beside the attractive beauty of Gokyo Lake; Gokyo valley is also famous for glacier, superb mountain views and unique culture and festivals. This classic walk through the Sherpa homeland of SoluKhumbu is a moderately strenuous high altitude trek to have an Everest without climbing it.
Much to their surprise, many people find the snout-like Everest out-ranked by peaks like Ama Dablam and the Lhotse wall. Khumbu is the best region in Nepal for close-up mountain views, enshrined in Sagarmatha National Park. The trek to the Gokyo Lakes offers an alternative to the traditional trek to Everest base camp. From Gokyo, more of Everest itself is visible though from a slighter greater distance than from Kala Pattar. The mountains are more spectacular, and from a ridge above Gokyo called Gokyo Ri, four 8000 meter peaks Chooyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu are visible at once as well as the great Nguzumpa Glacier which is the largest glacier in Nepal (36 km.). The view of the tremendous ice ridge between Chooyu and Gyachung Kang is one of the most dramatic panoramas in the Khumbu so it can be the most interesting journey and best trek for your whole lifetime. Gokyo lake trek starts with flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From Lukla you will reach to Gokyo Lake after completing the romantic and adventurous journey of Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Thame, Khumjung, Dole and Macherma. During your journey you will enchanted by the high Himalayan natural and cultural beauty. You will make the romantic excursion around the Gokyo valley and Gokyo Lake and finally return back to Namche bazaar via Chooyu base camp, Portse and Tehgboche. This trek is one of the best treks to see the numerous stunning mountains. Trekking to Everest offers adventurous and romantic Gokyo Lake trek in Nepal. We designed Gokyo Lake trek itinerary by including all the popular places of the areas with minimum required days.
